Meet.me
Meaningful connections and shared experiences
UX DESIGNER | USER RESEARCH, RAPID PROTOTYPING, COLLABORATIVE DESIGN

Meet.me is a social activity platform designed to help users connect through shared interests. While digital tools have made it easier to communicate, they don’t always facilitate meaningful real-world connections. Meet.me simplifies activity discovery, event planning, and social coordination, reducing the friction users often experience when trying to organize meetups.
By offering personalized activity recommendations, location-based suggestions, and a streamlined scheduling process, Meet.me provides an intuitive way for users to find and join activities that align with their interests. The project aimed to design a frictionless, engaging experience that encourages organic social interactions rather than relying on disconnected messaging and calendar tools.
My Role
As part of the design team, I played a leadership role in defining the platform’s user experience strategy and ensuring the final design aligned with user needs.
I conducted user research, developed personas, created wireframes and prototypes, and helped lead usability testing sessions to refine the activity discovery and event planning process. Collaborating closely with the team during a two-day sprint, I contributed to key design decisions that shaped the final product.
Challenge
Many people struggle to form and maintain meaningful in-person connections, even with the rise of digital networking platforms. Organizing social activities often involves back-and-forth coordination, scattered tools, and uncertainty about availability, leading to frustration and missed opportunities.
Users needed a centralized way to discover, plan, and participate in activities without relying on traditional messaging apps or complex scheduling workflows. Meet.me aimed to bridge this gap by integrating activity discovery, event coordination, and location-based recommendations into a single, seamless experience.
Outcome
Meet.me introduced a personalized activity feed, allowing users to browse and join activities based on their interests and availability. Smart location suggestions helped users find suitable meeting spots without added logistical stress. A simplified event creation process ensured that planning group activities was intuitive and required minimal effort.
Testing showed that these features helped users feel more confident in making social plans, reinforcing the need for a dedicated activity-focused platform rather than relying on fragmented tools.
Execution
User interviews highlighted key pain points in scheduling and social engagement, including difficulties in finding relevant activities, coordinating availability, and ensuring safety and trust in meetups. Competitive analysis showed that existing platforms were either too generic or too fragmented, making it difficult for users to rely on a single tool for social planning.
These findings led to the development of a user-friendly interface that streamlined event planning, reduced coordination friction, and enhanced social discovery. Prototyping and usability testing helped refine key features, ensuring that users could easily browse activities, manage event details, and receive relevant suggestions without feeling overwhelmed.
Impact
While Meet.me has not been publicly launched, usability testing with target users provided valuable insights into how the platform improved activity discovery and social engagement. Test users reported that personalized recommendations made it easier to find relevant events, and the simplified scheduling process helped them feel more confident in making plans.
Feedback indicated that the platform’s focus on reducing scheduling friction and improving event coordination would make it a compelling alternative to traditional social planning tools.
Reflection + Key Takeaways
This project reinforced the importance of designing for social intent, ensuring that users feel empowered to take action rather than passively browse activities. By focusing on personalization, trust, and ease of use, Meet.me created a solution that addressed the core barriers to planning and attending events.
The experience also highlighted the value of rapid iteration and user testing, ensuring that assumptions were validated early and that usability challenges were identified and resolved before finalizing the design.
